Description A good fit with a therapist is always essential for success of your therapy. I invite you to come in and meet with me to see if you feel comfortable and understood by me. If you do, we can proceed to set up regular session times to address your anxiety. Anxiety can be extremely debilitating. It is hard to think, concentrate and focus depending on the severity of your anxiety. Sessions must occur on a regular schedule at a pace of a minimum of at least once per week. Sometimes more than one session per week can be helpful to contain anxiety which usually has physical symptoms associated with the feelings. Sometimes it may be determined that a combination of both medication and psychotherapy is a successful tool for managing anxiety. Although use of medication may help, it is important to find the origin of the anxiety so that it can be understood. Sometimes this takes some exploration of what is going on in your life, and can only be determined by talking about it over time. Anxiety can be met with terror or these feelings can be managed with the help of a professional. Understanding what is out of one's awareness, for example by understanding your dreams, can play an important role in guiding your work to find answers to these uncomfortable feelings. Anxiety disrupts our life satisfaction and happiness. It can play havoc in our jobs and in our relationships. Making sense of what is happening to you when you feel anxious is of utmost importance.
