Description Life's challenges keep coming. Depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationships, anger; do these issues sound familiar? I am dedicated to assisting people working through these and other problems getting in the way of living a productive and emotionally satisfying life. My clients seek counseling to: cope with a history of trauma, either recent or in the past, that interferes with living in the present (often called PTSD); cope with and eliminate anxiety and panic attacks stemming from reasons that the client may not understand; resolve troubling relationships; learn stress reduction skills to manage physical and mental reactions to chronic illness; and assist clients in learning to manage anger and/or prevent angry outbursts.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the use of EMDR as a tool dealing with anxiety. As an experienced therapist, I understand that therapy can be difficult. Those who work hard are the most successful in getting something back. Thinking differently leads to acting differently and feeling better. Effective problem-solving methods and communication skills improve lives. Allowing the mind to rethink beliefs and feelings that come from old traumas and hurts can transform living in the present. Challenges can be overcome. Dare to grow, dare to change.
